All drivers under your account will need to first become a member of Zipcar. Zipcar will correspond with the department on the setup process. Email our Zipcar representative Chris Markey at and provide the name of the account. Drivers for the department sign up under the Departmental Account in which the fees go to the account and not the individual driver. A Departmental Account is a Zipcar account in which charges are billed directly to your department, and acts as an umbrella account with one university credit card on file. Because the insurance limits for members under 21 years of age are lower than the insurance provided for members 21 years of age and older ( insurance policy FAQs), we strongly suggest you and/or your parent/guardian check with your private auto insurance carrier to see if your current policy provides any additional protection and/or to see if you can purchase additional protection.
